Walker House Apartments Renovation

This project consisted of structural engineering services for the adaptive re-use of an existing central plant boiler building to create 16 new apartment units. Two new framed floor levels, consisting of open-web steel joists with concrete slabs, were added within the existing high-bay space. Extensive modifications to the perimeter masonry bearing walls were required to accommodate new openings for sliding glass doors at both levels.
