Extensive renovations and minor additions to an existing four-story, 22,000 square foot 1960's building that was originally the Yugoslavian Embassy and Ambassador's residence. The project required extensive structural work to incorporate an interior elevator and extended front facade bay for architectural enhancement, a new roof terrace, stair modifications, raising a portion of the existing roof to increase the ceiling height, numerous shafts for new MEP systems and a new 20 ft. x 60 ft. elevated roof terrace.

Montgomery County Aquatic Center Dive Tower
Rockville, Maryland
The existing steel-framed dive tower at this aquatic center was corroding in the harsh pool environment to the extent that its use had been discontinued. The structural work involves replacement of this tower with a new cast-in-place concrete structure. As the tower also serves an existing indoor waterslide, a new stair was added to the outside of the building to serve both the waterslide and the dive tower. Several corrosion-inhibiting design features were incorporated, including high-strength concrete, corrosion-inhibiting admixtures, epoxy-coated reinforcing steel and additional concrete cover over the reinforcing steel.
