Renovations and Addition

Alteration of and addition to the existing Verizon Communications Center. The original building consists of several phases of construction, dating from the 1920's to the 1960's. Structural work included demolition of all but the first framed floor of the original 1920's era concrete-encased steel structure, construction of a new three-story reinforced concrete structure on top of the remaining existing structure, a new roof screenwall supported by the existing roof framing, and new floor openings and shafts in the existing building to accommodate new mechanical, electrical and plumbing needs.
Suburban Wellness Center - MIS Data Center - 2nd Floor
Germantown, Maryland
This project consisted of a 3,000 sq. ft. renovation of a framed floor in an existing office building which included the design and detailing of supplemental reinforcement for the addition of a raised computer room floor system, computer equipment and mechanical and electrical equipment. Other renovations included new rooftop dunnage to support dry coolers and a new screen wall and associated bracing as well as supplemental structural support below the existing roof structure to support the new dunnage steel and new screen wall framing.
